To mark the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Ambassador Andris Teikmanis and the EBRD cordially invite you to an exhibition of the photographic works of Andris Zegners.
Known in Latvian as saules akmens (literally “sun stone”), amber is considered one the country’s greatest treasures. This exhibition will reveal the magic of this luminous stone through large-scale, innovative colour photography.
Born in 1962, Andris Zegners is one of the finest Latvian artists of his generation whose work revolves around the structure and textures of objects and natural elements. He has had solo exhibitions in a number of countries, from the Baltic States to the United States, Australia and Russia.
We are also excited to welcome Latvian sisters Kristine and Margarita Balanas to this event. Winners of countless international competitions for violin and cello, the music of this talented duo will provide a bit of atmosphere and background to what promises to be an exciting visual experience.
Please join us at this exhibition and musical reception on Wednesday 15 April 2015 from 17.30-19.30 in the coffee bar area at EBRD headquarters. Admission is free. External guests must register by Friday 10 April 2015.
The EBRD gratefully acknowledges the Embassy of Latvia for making this photo exhibition possible.
